How Arsenal could line up against PSV Eindhoven

Arsenal could once again be without three players for Thursday’s Europa League clash with PSV Eindhoven at the Emirates.

With only one point required to guarantee a top-two finish in Group A, the duo of Mohamed Elneny (hamstring) and Emile Smith Rowe (groin) continue to watch on from the sidelines.

Oleksandr Zinchenko’s calf injury is also giving him grief, and the left-back will not be risked if Mikel Arteta can help it, with the Spaniard still well-stocked on the left-hand side of the pitch.

A strong Arsenal side should take to the field given the magnitude of the contest, but Matt Turner can still expect to displace Aaron Ramsdale after impressing at Bodo/Glimt last week.

Takehiro Tomiyasu played the full 90 in a hard-fought battle with Leeds United and could therefore drop out of the side, allowing Kieran Tierney to come in as Ben White continues on the right.

Rob Holding and Gabriel Magalhaes could form the centre-back pairing as William Saliba enjoys a rest, while the need to dominate the midfield should see Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey both start on Thursday.

Fabio Vieira is in with a strong chance of replacing Martin Odegaard, but Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli should continue out wide, in spite of Reiss Nelson’s previous experience of facing Dutch opponents.

Gabriel Jesus shook off discomfort to start at Elland Road over the weekend, but Europa League regular Eddie Nketiah will aim to return to scoring ways in the competition as he lines up from the off.

Arsenal possible starting lineup: Turner; White, Holding, Gabriel, Tierney; Xhaka, Partey; Saka, Vieira, Martinelli; Nketiah
