UNDISPUTED Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez vs Caleb Plant LIVE: Date, UK start time, live stream, undercard and how to watch as pound-for-pound king takes on ‘Sweethands’ in unification title fight at MGM Grand in Las Vegas

The huge super-middleweight unification title fight between Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez and Caleb Plant will take centre-stage tonight.

Mexico’s pound-for-pound king Canelo has run through the super-middleweight division like a steam train since returning to 168lbs in December.

Canelo dominated Callum Smith to take his WBA title and win the vacant WBC.

He then battered overmatched mandatory Avni Yildirim in February and stopped Billy Joe Saunders by breaking his eye socket in May.

With the BJS win, Canelo became a three-belt WBA, WBC and WBO champion, needing just the IBF to be fully undisputed.

He will now get the chance to add that strap to his collection when he faces off against fierce rival Plant.

Unbeaten Plant is the IBF champion and beat Caleb Truax in January.

Canelo v Plant: Date and time

This 12-round super-middleweight title fight will take place on Saturday, November 6.

It is being held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

As it is being held in America, UK fans can expect the main event to get under way at around 5am on Sunday morning.

The clash will be for Canelo’s WBA (Super), WBC, WBO, and The Ring super middleweight titles and for Plant’s IBF super middleweight title.

Canelo v Plant: What happened at the press conference?

Canelo left Plant with a cut to his face as their first press conference turned violent.

Prior to the start of the media event in Beverly Hills, the pair came nose to nose on the stage and exchanged words.

This went on for about 20 seconds until Plant seemingly said something which seriously offended Canelo.

The Mexican shoved the American, but for some reason no security was close to intervene.

Plant responded by walking back up to Canelo and swinging for him, but boxing’s pound-for-pound king was prepared and ducked underneath.

Canelo fired straight back with a counter left and a right hand before they were finally pulled apart.

After the clash, it could be seen that Canelo’s punch cut Plant under his right eye.

Canelo v Plant: What has been said?

Canelo Alvarez said: “You are not on my level and you will see on November 6. You don’t want to fight now, I promise you.

“We come from nothing and we worked hard to be here. For somebody to lie and talk trash about us, that upset Eddy. It is what it is though. We just have to show everyone who we are on November 6.

“Caleb might be on the same level as Saunders and Smith, but he’s not on my level. I respect that he isn’t here to back down. You can see from today that this is definitely going to be a good fight.”

Caleb Plant said: “I know only one thing better than proving people right, and that’s proving people wrong. I’ve been doing that my whole life. As soon as I stepped on the stage, people started talking about what I can’t accomplish and what I can’t do.

“Where I come from, there is no boxing community. There was no other pro I could look to and say that if he can do it, then I can do it. All I had was my mind and my heart.

“I don’t do this to be famous or to get attention. When I first started, it was just me and my dad. No one thought I’d be standing here today.”
