THRILLER Justin Gaethje v Michael Chandler date: UFC 268 UK start time, live stream, fight undercard and how to follow as ‘Highlight’ returns after Khabib Nurmagomedov defeat

Justin Gaethje will finally make his MMA return after more than a year at UFC 268 to take on lightweight rival Michael Chandler tonight.

‘The Highlight’ hasn’t fought since losing to Khabib Nurmagomedov in October 2020 – which led to the Russian’s retirement.

The number two ranked Gaethje will now face the number four ranked Chandler, who is also coming off a loss in a championship fight.

Chandler’s last outing came against current lightweight champion Charles Oliveira at UFC 262 in May.

With Dustin Poirier next in line to face Oliveira for the title, there’s every chance the winner of this showdown will earn a title shot next year.

Gaethje’s clash with Chandler has the potential to be a match of the night contender at a stacked UFC 268 event and here’s everything you need to know about it…

Gaethje v Chandler: What has been said?

Gaethje told ESPN that he’d rather not fight Chandler in a five-rounder.

He said: “F**k that. Why would I sign up for two more rounds? I get paid the same. I get paid the same, at the end of the day.

“If I’m gonna ever suffer a critical, chronic (injury), or ultimately death in that cage, it will be in round four or five.

“So I’ll save those for championship fights or main events. I’m cool.”
