Scotland v Croatia TV channel, kick-off time and prediction for Euros match tonight

Permutations, early team news, referee details and what the managers have said ahead of Hampden Park clash

Scotland return to Hampden Park to face Croatia in their final Group D game as they bid to reach the last 16 of Euro 2020.

Steve Clarke’s side will be buoyed by their impressive 0-0 draw against England at Wembley but both Scotland and Croatia need a victory to get through.

Here, we give you the lowdown on the fixture.

What time is kick-off?

It will start at 8pm BST on Tuesday, June 22.

What TV channel is it on?

ITV4 will be televising this game with coverage starting at 7pm.

What about live streaming?

It is also available to watch in the UK on ITV Hub.

Who is the referee?

Argentina’s Fernando Andres Rapallini, the first non-European referee to take charge at a European Championship, will be the man in the middle.

Wh at are the permutations?

No less than a win will do for Scotland. They would need England to lose to Czech Republic along with a goal-swing of three or more to leapfrog the Auld Enemy and finish second to guarantee their last 16 place. If not, a third-placed finish would leave them relying on other results but it is likely that four points would be enough to go through.

What’s the early team news?

The big news ahead of the game is that Scotland midfielder Billy Gilmour, who was outstanding against England, has tested positive for Covid and will miss out.

However, it appears an outbreak in the squad has been avoided with no other players self-isolating after the Scottish FA said that no close contacts were identified.

What have the managers said?

Scotland manager Steve Clarke : “Croatia have good attributes, different attributes to England. They are a good team who move the ball well. They have two really top players in midfield in Kovacic and Modric and we need to deal with that.

“I think for both teams it’s going to be a case of trying to work your way into the game. It’s a difficult game to read to be honest because both teams need to win.

“It might become very open at one stage if both teams are chasing a goal. Tactically it’s going to be very interesting.”

Croatia coach Zlatko Dalic: “Scotland’s defence against England was solid. They had a few good chances, they played really well. They didn’t deserve to lose against Czech Republic, having some big chances. So, we are aware that it will be very difficult match for us.”

“We know that they have strength on the left side through (Andy) Robertson, who’s top-quality. They also tend to press high, but we have to stick to our game plan. That was not the case in the first half against Czech Republic.”
